A tailor’s workshop begins with the ordinary. But in the hands of artists, these fragments of fabric transform into something extraordinary. They are no longer mere objects but witnesses, carrying histories of labour, migration, and identity. Rooted in the ethos of Britto Arts Trust—a Dhaka-based network fostering interdisciplinary practices and artistic exchange—this exhibition inherits a spirit of collaboration and dialogue. The works originate in Bangladesh with its vibrant histories of textile production, global labour struggles, and artistic experimentation. At its core, the show is not only about survival but, more importantly, reincarnation through transformation. The garments become metaphors for resilience, reminding us that art and people can forge connections across divides even in the face of fragmentation.
