Satyaki Ghosh

Mumbai, India

Satyaki Ghosh is a photographer with a deep connection to the world of cinema and black-and-white photography, influenced by his legendary father, Nemai Ghosh. While at St. Xavier’s College, Kolkata, he was mentored by Jyotish Chakraborty and began his career on the sets of Satyajit Ray’s Ghare Bhaire. Passionate about photographing people, specifically, Satyaki captures the human condition with an abstract focus that invites investigation. His work – which covers everything from the sensual to the rustic, blending raw emotion and artistry to communicate compelling, human stories – has appeared in international magazines and received acclaim from icons like Henri Cartier-Bresson. Ghosh has been awarded many prestigious honours, such as PX3 and Spiders. Whether short-term assignments or large-scale projects, Satyaki prioritises the cultural contexts that nurture his craft.
