Leila Danziger is a Rio de Janeiro-based artist, poet, and researcher, currently lecturing at the Institute of Arts, Rio de Janeiro State University. Her work delves into the printed page—newspapers, books, and historical documents—exploring the tension between micro and macro histories, familial memories, and narratives of extreme violence. Utilising various media, including printing, photography, video, and installation, she engages with themes significant to contemporary society. Among her notable projects are Public Diaries, a series that employs selective wipeouts of news articles, and Emigrant Ship, a tribute to Lasar Segall linking the refugee crises of World War II to present-day challenges in immigration. Danziger has held solo exhibitions at prominent venues such as the Museu Judaico de São Paulo and the Caixa Cultural Centers, and her work has been included in various international group shows. She has also authored several collections of poetry and books.
