Korhan Başaran holds a BA from Bilkent University’s Theater Department and an MBA in Art Management from Yeditepe University. He serves as the Artistic Director of his company, RAu. After completing a decade-long professional career in Turkey, Başaran moved to New York City, where he received a scholarship from the Cunningham Studio. He had the privilege of dancing with the Repertory Group of the Cunningham Company under the direction of Robert Swinston. Over the years, Başaran has studied and danced with various choreographers in Istanbul and New York, passionately developing a unique voice in the dance community. His works have been commissioned by prestigious organisations such as BAM’s Dance Motion USA, Nimbus Dance Works, Mari Meade DC, Project 44, and the Boston Conservatory at Berklee in the U.S., as well as MDT, Akbank Sanat, and Tatbikat Sahnesi in Turkey.
These three works—by Helin Boztepe, Korhan Başaran, and Jakob Gautel—invite us to experience time as a space of continuity rather than closure, a layered domain where past and present intermingle with quiet intimacy. Each piece draws us into landscapes where history and myth cease to be distant. They become presences, palpable as river currents or the murmuring of trees...
